HISTORY COMMITTEE-John Brewer


The Historian will serve as Chair of the History Committee. This committee will :

  • Report to the Opera House Committee.
  • Determine records of historical significance to be retained.
  • Acquire two copies of every society paper to be submitted for history documentation for National Opera House. Provide one copy for the archives and the other for retention by the Historian.
  • Organization, distribution and storage of chosen documents.
  • Create and present an annual report of activities to be presented to the Board.
  • Advise Historian on issues that arise where history of the organization may be relevant.
  • Foster an appreciation of the contributions of all involved with the National Opera House. This will include founders, Board, staff, students, supporters and contributors.
  • Recognize efforts to promote National Opera House.
  • Identify projects of future historical significance and help oversee their implementation with expert focus on how the event can be recorded for its future preservation.
  • Encourage each program of the National Opera House to preserve and promote its own history through performances, publications and exhibits.
  • Other duties as delegated by the Opera House Committee, Board of Directors and Executive Director.
